Bodies found in Texas County identified as Kelley and Butler, suspects face charges
TEXAS COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — The Office of the Oklahoma Chief Medical Examiner has positively identified the two deceased persons from Texas County as 39-year-old Jilian Kelley and 27-year-old Veronica Butler.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) reported this on Tuesday evening and extended its thoughts and prayers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with their loved ones, along with everyone throughout their community.OSBI originally reported the pair as missing on March 30, after Kelley and Butler's vehicle was found abandoned near the Four Corners region in the Oklahoma panhandle.
OSBI arrested four individuals in connection with the suspicious disappearance of Kelley and Butler on Saturday, April 13, and later identified the individuals as Tad Bert Cullum, Cora Twombly, Tifany Machel Adams, and Cole Earl Twombly.
On Sunday, April 14, OSBI reported it had recovered two dead bodies in rural Texas County, which have now been identified as Kelley and Butler.
The four arrested are all facing murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy charges, and according to an affidavit, are connected to an anti-government religious group known as "God's Misfits" and a lengthy custody battle.
