CM Punk recalls spending undisclosed money to buy 20,000 ice-cream bars for his AEW debut, teases WW
No one does it quite like CM Punk. Those who were in attendance for his AEW debut in Chicago circa 2021 left with an ice-cream bar in their hands. That was Punk’s way of rewarding them for years of being loyal to him, even though he had no penchant left to return to the squared circle. Recalling that historic night at the United Center, Punk spoke his heart out.
Speaking on the Busted Open Radio about the rave responses from the fans he had gotten over the years, even when he wasn’t around, CM Punk said he realized it. Which is why he gifted an ice-cream bar to everyone who paid a visit to see him live, and there were around 20,000 of them. He couldn’t come up with exactly how many cents it cost him. Nonetheless, he affirmed that’s something he always tries to do.
The 45-year-old then teased there’s more surprises in store for the Chicagoans who’re planning to attend forthcoming WWE shows in the city. As has already been announced, CM Punk will make a special appearance on the October 1st edition of NXT, which will mark the show’s debut on the CW Network. It will emanate from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, and that’s where Punk might pull a rabbit out of his hat for the fans.
More surprises in store if you plan on attending any shows in Chicago in the near future ‘wink wink, nudge nudge. I spent, I don’t know how much money buying 20,000 ice cream bars for the fans in Chicago. It’s something I always try to do.CM Punk via the Busted Open Radio podcast
He immensely appreciated his well-wishers, but admitted that he’s very vocal about those engendering farcical nuisance. Punk recently quashed the theory that has long regarded him as a cancer to the locker room. The former AEW star was hellbent on assuring that whatever unrest he endured in the Tony Khan-led promotion wouldn’t repeat itself in WWE. The fans would hope that Punk continues to spellbind his peers like he’s doing currently.
Crunch time for CM Punk as he seeks redemption on Drew McIntyre
For months, CM Punk’s been going for the kill on Drew McIntyre. Thus far, the Scot could boast of holding an edge over the veteran superstar. Their first one-on-one meeting at SummerSlam went the way McIntyre was hoping for.
Punk let outside noise perturb him, and that made the difference. The Best in the World has vengeance on his mind. He’s set to deliver a message to Drew on this week’s Raw after putting him through hell last Monday.
Punk owned McIntyre’s back with a belt, like some rent was due. By the looks of it, they’re heading for a strap match, as previously reported by Cory Hays of PWN. It would be interesting to see who takes the second round of this far-from-over saga between Punk and Drew.
