Kevin Durant gets nod over Larry Bird but LeBron James snubbed against Michael Jordan, in veteran

Which NBA player would win 1v1 in their Prime? This one question can create endless debates among NBA fans, players, and analysts around the world. Interestingly, former NBA star, Tracy Mcgrady also known as T-Mac has caused a stir for his recent take on the same aforementioned question with stars such as Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Larry Bird, and Michael Jordan involved.

In a recent video shared by House of Lights, T-Mac was interviewed regarding “Which player would win 1v1 in their Prime?” To everyone’s surprise, McGrady picked KD over the NBA legend Larry Bird. However, he did not stop there. Things got more interesting and controversial at the same time when he picked Jordan over James in the 1v1 battle.

However, one can well and truly argue with the picks made by McGrady, especially with him choosing Jordan over James. It’s important to note that Captain James is coming off a Gold medal win with his nation, Team USA at the Paris Olympics. Despite this, T-Mac’s choice to pick Jordan over him speaks volumes of the admiration he has for the Chicago Bulls legend.

On the other hand, Durant getting the nod over Bird also is one controversial take but seems understandable with the statistics. Moreover, Durant is also the all-time Olympic top scorer for USA basketball. Hence, T-Mac’s decision to pick Durant over Bird seems justifiable but many would still argue with his decision.

Tracy McGrady holds Michael Jordan in ‘high regard”

Tracy McGrady, a Hall of Famer, appeared to declare Michael Jordan the greatest player in NBA history. McGrady discussed Jordan in his podcast interview. This declaration by McGrady came after a fan on X posted that: “The legend of Michael Jordan is greater than Jordan himself.” This did not go down well with McGrady as he addressed this tweet on his podcast.

That's gotta be these Gen Z people saying that, there's no way in hell. If you didn't see Michael Jordan play, stop talking about who he's played against. Just study his game, He was incredible. It was nothing like I've ever seen someone on a basketball court. I've seen the greats of the greats ... He was that great."

In the NBA community, many believe  Jordan and LeBron James to be the top two contenders for the title of best player in NBA history. Jordan wins most debates since he has six championships, whereas James has four titles and holds the league’s all-time scoring record. However, this debate is endless and depends on the person’s favored choice of the player.
