Man allegedly hired by Pa. woman to kill her wife, burn down house appears in court
BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A man who was charged earlier this week after police say he was hired by a Pennsylvania woman in an attempt to kill her wife and her wife's family made his first court appearance Friday morning.
On Wednesday, authorities charged43-year-old Heather Dibert, of Duncansville, and 34-year-old Zachery Sellers, of Lewistown, after investigators uncovered messages between them in whichDibert allegedly offered money and drugs to Sellers in exchange for him burning down a home in Napier Township where her wife was staying with family members.
According to the affidavit, on October 28, authorities responded to a reported house fire at the home in question in Napier Township.
Investigators say evidence reportedly showed that the fire started when a Molotov cocktail was thrown onto the porch of the home. Police say Sellers allegedly admitted that Dibert showed him the home and told him to "kill them all."
Sellers was arraigned Friday morning on various charges, including multiple counts of arson and aggravated arson, as well as attempted homicide and attempted aggravated assault.
His bail has been set at $1 million.
