ZERO Sievert Weapon Info Location: Includes Names
Change the names of the current weapons in ZS to whatever you want.
Locating the .json File
Info is now kept in a .json file. You right click and open this file with notepad or my preference, Notepad++ for way easier time.
First, navigate to wherever you installed ZERO Sievert. Following the image below, follow the folder structure to the gamedate directoy. You’ll see a bunch of files labled JSON.
Scroll down to the bottom and find weapon.json. Make a copy of it and rename it to whatever you want – original or backup.
The original/backup is your “My game won’t load because I screwed up syntax while typing and deleted a random parentheses and the whole game is crapping the bed” reset button.
Right-click on weapon.json and Open-with either notepad or Notepad++.
Your’s may look a wee bit different, but never mind that. Mine is open in Notepad++, so I have nice indentations and everything is easy to reference.
See where it says “ak_101” : {, just below “data”? That is like a ‘folder’ containing all the information for that item. We see that it’s actually Even called the AK-101 in the code!
Looking at this “basic” section, we see that a bunch of different things are described under here. The only concern of this guide and that I care about writing is the 3rd one down, “name”. Inside those quotation marks around EC 101, you can write whatever you want and it will appear in game both on the weapon and relevant attachments.
Call them whatever you want or do like I did and give them realistic names, whatever floats your boat.
After you’re done with all your changes, save and also make a copy of the weapon.json you just spent time renaming everything in: this is so when an update happens, if nothing weapon-wise is affected you can simply replace the core weapon.json file with your modded backup. Everybody loves backups!
